当健保組合では、これまで日本産業規格（JIS）外の文字（以下外字※）が氏名にある場合には、個別に外字にて健康保険証等の発行対応をしてまいりましたが、JIS規格の使用を原則とする国の方針により、当健保においても、令和6年12月1日をもって外字の取り扱いを終了することといたします。
＜氏名に外字が含まれる方へ＞
令和6年12月1日以降、当組合からお送りする各種証、通知書、証明書等の全てにおいて、置換文字（該当の置換文字がない場合は、アルファベットまたはカタカナ）での対応となります。なお、健康保険証および健診メニュー（カフェテリアプラン）については、以下の通りです。
対象となる被保険者の方には、外字廃止の旨をメールにてご案内いたします。ご不便、ご迷惑をおかけしますが、ご理解のほどよろしくお願いいたします。

To all insured persons,
Termination of Customized Service by the EY Japan Health Insurance Association in
Providing “Gaiji” for Names
At present, in the case where a non-JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) character (hereafter called “Gaiji”*1) is used in a name, the health insurance association provides customized service to apply Gaiji in issuing documents including health insurance cards. However, in line with the Government’s policy in endorsing the use of JIS codes, we will no longer support the use of Gaiji from December 1st 2024.
＜For those who have Gaiji in their names＞
We will apply alternative characters (if no suitable alternative is available, alphabet or Katakana will be applied) for all the documents, notifications and certificates which will be sent from the Association on or after December 1st 2024. Planned actions for health insurance cards and health screenings (Cafeteria Plan) are as follows;
Those who are affected by the change will be notified accordingly via email. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
*1A character that is created by the Association using the Gaiji editor then saved individually in the computer device, when the character is not included in the device’s encoding (eg.JIS encoding).
