Basic Policy on Customer Harassment
EY Japan Health Insurance Society is committed to responding sincerely, appropriately, and promptly to consultations, inquiries, feedback, and comments from all stakeholders, including insured members, business partners, and affiliated organizations. Through such efforts, we strive to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
We also take all feedback seriously, share it internally as appropriate, and continuously work to improve the quality of our services and support.
At the same time, harassment, including unreasonable demands or behavior that is considered socially unacceptable toward our officers and employees, undermines their dignity and adversely affects the working environment. To protect our officers and employees, EY Japan Health Insurance Society does not tolerate any form of harassment and will respond firmly and appropriately to such conduct.
Definition of Customer Harassment
EY Japan Health Insurance Society defines customer harassment as any conduct that:
involves demands lacking reasonable justification; or
employs means or methods that are socially unacceptable in attempting to satisfy such demands; and
adversely affects the working environment of employees of EY Japan Health Insurance Society or its service providers.
Examples of Customer Harassment
The following are examples of conduct that may constitute customer harassment. These examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be exhaustive.
Physical or psychological aggression, including assault, injury, threats, coercion, defamation, damage to reputation, insults, or abusive language
Intimidating behavior or remarks
Repeated, persistent, or harassing conduct
Demands for acts of prostration or excessive apology
Restrictive conduct, including refusal to leave the premises, loitering, confinement, or unreasonably prolonged or repeated detention of personnel beyond reasonable limits
Discriminatory remarks or conduct
Sexually inappropriate remarks or conduct
Personal attacks on, or unreasonable demands directed at, individual officers or employees of the Health Insurance Society
Posting or disclosing personal information relating to officers or employees of the Health Insurance Society on social media, websites, or other internet platforms, including photographs, audio recordings, or videos
Demands for unreasonable or excessive services
Requests for money, goods, compensation, apologies, or other benefits without legitimate grounds, or demands that exceed the responsibility of the Health Insurance Society or generally accepted social standards
Response to Customer Harassment
If EY Japan Health Insurance Society determines that conduct constitutes customer harassment, we may decline to continue responding to or engaging with the individual involved.
Where conduct is deemed particularly serious or malicious, we may consult with legal counsel and take appropriate legal action as necessary.
In cases involving potential criminal conduct, including violence, threats, intimidation, or extortion, we will work closely with law enforcement authorities and legal professionals and will take strict and appropriate measures.
